The resurgence of interest in neurology in the past fifteen years has led to the publication of a number of new neurologic texts. It was inevitable that abbreviated versions would find their way into print. The most recent of these, entitled Synopsis of Neurology by Dr. Francis Forster, Professor of Neurology at the University of Wisconsin, is designed primarily for the medical student beginning his clinical work and for the physician specializing in a field other than clinical neurology. In this manual Dr. Forster has attempted to concentrate the fruits of his wide experience in the teaching of medical students and residents.

This manual of 223 pages is divided into two parts. The first deals with the evaluation of the neurologic patient and covers in three short chapters the neurologic history, examination, and clinical diagnostic tests.
