The author, in this book, has collected an immense amount of material, much of it representing data reported within the preceding ten years. This has the effect of making this tome an exhaustive and authoritative collection of interpreted facts regarding the vascular supply of the spinal cord and the meninges which sheath it. Indeed, this book may be regarded as the most definitive work to date, and it is especially valuable in that there is extensive correlative pathologic and neurophysiologic data
The book is organized in such a way as to be useful to persons in so many disciplines aside from neurology. The first section is concerned with the embryology and anatomy of the blood supply; there is an abundant number of references to functional equivalents of anatomic structures and enough good text diagrams and photographs to illustrate salient points. Illustrations, however, have not been used to supplant text.
