In this brief volume the author presents a review of the major problems in neurosurgery. These include brain tumor, epilepsy, head injury, vascular malformations, peripheral nerve injuries, spinal cord tumor, and trauma. Each section is accompanied by a series of excellent diagrams and photographs. There are two chapters of special interest to anyone in medical practice: one on the surgical management of intractable pain and another on the management of spinal cord injury. Both of these conditions are all too frequently encountered, and the author's discussion offers an excellent outline of the problems. The text is clear and well written and frequently aided by examples of patients with a particular disorder.

The author directs his book to the medical student and practitioner, and for them especially as well as for others it is warmly recommended as a brief, clear, well-illustrated account of present-day common neurosurgical problems. . . . [Full Text PDF of this Article]
