This second addition of Wagner's Principles of Nuclear Medicine has been a long time coming. This should be a welcomed new member of a library for any individual who is practicing, studying, or teaching nuclear medicine. The growth of the physical size of the text mirrors the growth of nuclear medicine. The editors are to be congratulated by blending the contributions from a large number of authors into a single comprehensive volume that is an excellent source of valuable information.
The sections on basic science, radiation safety, radiation accidents, and low-level radioactive waste are of particular excellence. All sections are well organized, as succinct as possible, and fully covered, and also attempt to predict current basic approaches.
In the clinical chapters of the text is a major emphasis on utilization of the basic science portions in a clinical problem-solving mode. This approach is well founded and fills a necessity in
