The number of books concerning headache continue to escalate. Dr Robbins' brief book presents his own views on the best drug regimens for headache treatment. The book's 13 chapters present in straightforward fashion the author's recommendations for abortive and preventive treatment of migraine, tension headache, and cluster headache with subsequent chapters on headache in children. In each subject, the author presents in detail his first, second, and third choice of drug or drug combinations. Side effects are extensively presented. There are separate chapters describing typical cases of migraine and tension and cluster headache as well as the sequential aspects of treatment as practiced by the author.
The style is breezy and conversational, and no attempt is made to discuss controversies in management. The body of the text has no references, but there are alphabetized references for each chapter given at the end of the book. There is an appendix, consisting
