This volume has several features that reinforce each other and bond the work into a thoroughly excellent achievement. Strengths reflect a well-focused single author using a lucid, readable style, an encompassing consistent recurrent format from section to section, extensive references, and selected illustrations of the highest quality.
The style is easily read and accumulative from one paragraph to the next. This reviewer almost felt the reader being drawn into what lies ahead, rather than having to push one's way forward.
The introduction immediately establishes a demographic and societal base that poignantly fixes the urgent reasons for compiling the material that lies ahead. It then briefly introduces core elements of each of the remaining nine sections.
Each expanded section has a brief, focused introductory statement, a clear well-prioritized outline, and a comfortably compact text that encompasses the subject in breadth and in detail. The sections include "Introduction," "Skull and Scalp Trauma,"
