The third edition of this book follows quite closely the pattern of the second edition. The first chapter is, for the nurse, an excellent review of the anatomy and physiology of the nervous system. The second chapter gives detailed descriptions of diagnostic tests and outlines the necessary nursing care involved. The various types of nursing problems in neurological illnesses are well described. Illustrations and descriptions of surgical procedures are instructive. Although considerable space is given to pictures and descriptions of procedures that are basic to all nursing care, and much of the material covered is equally well covered in texts on medical-surgical nursing and on fundamentals of nursing, this book is nevertheless a good reference volume for school library and hospital neurological pavilion.
