This booklet consists of 60 cases in which the reader is shown plain-film roentgenograms of the cervical spine. After analyzing each case, the reader is expected to compare his findings with the answers and explanations provided on the adjacent page. The plain films are complemented with computed tomographic (CT) studies and line drawings. In total, there are 108 plain films, 47 drawings, 23 CT studies, 18 three-dimensional CT studies, and nine tomograms. The book is a collection of interesting vignettes, and although there are a number of excellent three-dimensional images, the emphasis is clearly on the interpretation of plain-film roentgenograms.
The reproductions of the roentgenograms are very good, and the layout of the book is straightforward. The authors begin with basic examples and challenge the reader after providing sound concepts with the first few cases.
