Neurochemistry Award Announced.
— Dr Julius Axelrod, National Institute of Mental Health, Bethesda, Md; Dr Arvid Carlsson, University of Goteborg (Sweden); and Dr Paul Greengard, Rockefeller University New York, NY, who are leaders in exploring the basic biochemistry underlying the brain's cell-to-cell communication, received the second annual Bristol-Myers Award for Distinguished Achievement in Neuroscience Research. The award, instituted in 1988 as part of a comprehensive unconditional research grant and award program sponsored by Bristol-Myers Co, New York, NY, is given to neuroscientists who have made unique contributions to brain and central nervous system research. Selection is made by an independent peer-review committee of leading neuroscientists. Explaining the choice of this year's recipients to share the $50 000 award, committee member Dr Solomon H.
