News From NINCDS NINCDS Announces New Career Development Award Recipients.

—Ten new Clinical Investigator Development Awards and one Research Career Development Award have been made by the National Institute of Neurological and Communicative Disorders and Stroke. The recipients were recommended by the National Advisory Neurological and Communicative Disorders and Stroke Council, which met in January 1986. These are the awardees and their project titles: Clinical Investigator Development Awards

Samuel E. Gandy, Rockefeller University, New York, "Characterization of a Neuron-Specific Phosphoprotein" Raymond S. Kandt, Duke University, Durham, NC, "DNA Deletions in Duchenne's Type Muscular Dystrophy"

James E. Madl, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, "Excitatory Amino Acids and Hypoxic Damage in the CNS"
