Melanocytic Neoplasms Symposium.
—Medical Laboratory Associates and the Birmingham Clinical Club will sponsor a symposium on problems in the diagnosis and treatment of melanocytic neoplasms and how to resolve them April 25-27, 1986, at the Sheraton Perimeter Park South in Birmingham, Ala. The chapter on the team approach to rehabilitation emphasizes the need for in-hospital evaluation and therapy. The lack of randomized studies that show costs and benefits might hinder other centers from initiating this approach, and the current cost-containment environment in the health care reimbursement system may force adaptations. The difficulties in initiating these randomized studies are pointed out in the text, although we cannot afford to wait much longer for the results.
