Alzheimer's Disease Association Adds 13 Chapters.

—The Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders Association (ADRDA) has announced that it is certifying 13 new chapters in ten states. With these additions, the Chicago-based national volunteer health organization, formed in 1980, has 79 chapters and more than 350 support groups in the United States.

Jerome H. Stone, ADRDA president, said that the organization's rapid growth reflects the insidious and pervasive nature of Alzheimer's disease. "ADRDA has become a focal point for information and funding to research this still relatively littleknown brain disease that afflicts more than 2 million Americans and causes some 120,000 deaths annually," he said. "It is the nation's fourth leading cause of death."
