This collection of articles was presented at the symposia during the 11th International Congress of Anatomy in Mexico City in 1980. The papers are grouped into several categories covering astrocytes, oligodendrocytes, microglia, interneuronal communication, the cerebellum, and the method of metallic impregnation, in addition to a special article on brain development. The papers deal mainly with dynamic morphology, with only a touch of chemistry and physiology. The content is succinct, up to date, and easy to skim. The book will be most useful to neuroscientists who deal with morphologic or cell biologic research.
