Volume 1, Syringomyelia, launches a new monograph series, edited by the redoubtable John Walton. The series now also includes a clear, accurate, well-illustrated, and informative volume on muscle biopsy, an innovative, discipline-spanning treatise on the neurology of gastrointestinal disease, and one of the best compact volumes on cerebral vascular disease that we've seen, namely, Strokes: Natural History, Pathology and Surgical Treatment, by E.C. Hutchinson and E.J. Acheson (Arch Neurol 33:312, 1976).
