"Development and Regeneration in the Nervous System" represents an interesting, although highly selected series of mini-reviews in this area. While this collection includes papers by such distinguished investigators as Prestige, Gaze, Balazs, Cragg, and Blakemore, space limitation has precluded in-depth discussions by any of the authors. Although the absence of interchange among the contributors may place inordinate burdens on the uninitiated reader's search for broad concepts and general hypotheses, the above contributors have written particularly lucid, concise overviews.

This volume will probably be of greatest use to students and scientists in other fields requiring abbreviated, current bibliographies in specific areas of developmental neurobiology. . . . [Full Text PDF of this Article]
