The volume contains original reviews on the functions of the mammalian cerebral cortex in movement; the neurobiology of motivated behavior, axonal transport in peripheral nerves; absolute pitch in humans, blood platelets as a model for monoamine-containing neurons; electrogenesis of sustained potentials; the neural control of the skating reflex; -aminobutyric acid, succinic semialdehyde and sleep; the synaptosome; and the analysis of amines in microquantities of tissue.
