The volume continues the exceptionally high quality of this series. An introduction by Zotterman is followed by chapters on cutaneous receptors, joint receptors, relay nuclei, afferent systems, spinocerebellar pathways, reticular formation, specific and nonspecific thalamic and cortical projections, and the somatosensory cortex. The authors are authorities without exception, the presentations are clear, the illustrations are admirable, and the book should be in every major library of neurophysiology.
