Announcement Regarding a Uniform Date of Appointment for Neurology Residents.—

Following a series of discussions among members of the Association of University Professors of Neurology, a plan has been evolved for a uniform date of appointment of neurology residents, similar to the one that is now in effect for the appointment of residents in internal medicine and pediatrics. According to this plan, for neurology residencies beginning in July 1973, acceptances will be made by phone or telegram at noon, eastern time, on Oct 16, 1972. The candidate will then have until Friday, Oct 20, to respond.

A number of neurological training programs will participate in this plan, and some will not. The programs (and program directors) in each of these groups are listed below, alphabetically, according to program directors.

Massachusetts General Hospital (Dr. Raymond D. Adams)

Ohio State (Dr. Norman Allen)

Duke University (Dr. Stanley Appel)
