This is a clinical and electroencephalographic review of 300 patients. The material, presentation, and bibliography represent a standard statement about this problem, the only new point being an effort to implicate a faulty arousal mechanism in the genesis of generalized seizures.

This book is a Festschrift dedicated to the scientific father of a whole generation of catecholamine scientists. Twelve signed chapters, many with new material, are presented by present and former collaborators and the writing and presentation is of excellent quality. The volume represents a very good introduction or review to recent catecholamine biology.
