This is a clearly written and well illustrated straightforward textbook of neuroanatomy. A moderate amount of functional correlation is included, certainly sufficient for a text of this size. Many teachers of anatomy will probably continue to want their students to have more comprehensive textbooks, but with everything else that the undergraduate now has to learn, this volume would seem to cover well the "irreducible minimum" that one would hope would be the introduction of all medical students to the nervous system. Similarly, it is an easily read review for those who wish to pull their memories together.
