These volumes represent the loose-leaf revision of Dr. Baker's multivolume system on clinical neurology. The idea is a new one in American neurological publications and these volumes are a splendid introduction to the concept.

The new "Baker's Neurology" has been updated extensively with many new chapters added and others totally rewritten. The bibliography is comprehensive and almost always modern. The quality of the reproductions is superior and in many areas, because of succinct and accurate description, one finds almost more reference material than one had expected in a volume of this size.

As is always true, some unevenness prevails and one finds less than one would like on, for example, subdural hematoma. On the other hand chapters such as those on the demyelinating illness represent one of the best things available in this often complicated area.
