This new volume from the professor of neuroradiology at Marseilles is a triumph of the bookmakers art and a pleasure on that basis alone. The atlas consists principally of a series of photographs of brain sections cut in the frontal, horizontal, and sagittal planes; each photograph being accompanied by a transparent reproduction of the postmortem arteriogram of the particular cerebral section concerned. Superimposition of the relevant angiographic transparencies over the photograph of the brain enables the reader to visualize the arterial systems of the cortex, white matter, and basal nuclei in three dimensions. The atlas also contains a radiographic study of the anatomy of the major individual arteries to the brain, and concludes with a microangiographic study of certain vascular areas. The index is arranged so that both the sections illustrating the individual arteries and those illustrating the structures they supply can readily be found. The index is actually presented . . .
