In this short, well prepared monograph, Dr. Leksell describes his apparatus and clearly discusses its use. A review of the clinical results of this stereotaxic method is promised in a companion volume. The Leksell instrument has been one of the most widely accepted and used stereotaxic instruments and has served also as the prototype for a number of modifications. Dr. Leksell has pioneered stereotaxic radiosurgery, and in his volume he briefly describes the technical aspects of this promising technique.
