The title of this book is somewhat misleading: it is not, in fact, addressed to neurologists, but is an introduction to neurology for speech therapists. Naturally, there is some emphasis on aphasia and related areas, but the authors also cover the fields of epilepsy, neoplasms, infections, and so forth.
All who have tried to make clear and interesting to "paramedical" personnel the arcana of neurology will recognize that Drs. Espir and Rose have been successful in hitting the right level of explanation and the right degree of clarity. Unfortunately, as so often in reprinted lecture notes, the flavor of the individual teacher is lost. This flavor is the most important factor in aiding the student's memory and even making converts to neurology. From this second point of view, the booklet might have contained more allusion to biochemical and pharmacological advances, which now make the teaching of neurology to paraprofessional personnel
