Parkinsonism has been the subject of one or more major meetings nearly every year of the past decade. Their published proceedings form a valuable record of the progress which has been achieved during this period and of the evolution of thought on the still unsolved riddle that is parkinsonism. The present volume represents the proceedings of a conference held in Val David, Quebec, Canada, in November 1969. It may be regarded as the chronological successor of the Third Parkinson Symposium held at Edinburgh, May 1968, and as the predecessor of the Fourth Belair Symposium held in Geneva, September 1970. The proceedings of the former have been available since early 1969; the proceedings of the latter are expected later this year.
