The second edition of this text is a magnificent addition to the neurosurgical literature. Dr. Jennett has combined elegant prose with beautiful illustrations in his exposition of the entire field of neurosurgery. That he is able to do it so well with so few words is adequate testimony to his skills. Difficult concepts are clearly expressed with illustrations that compliment the text rather than repeat it. Controversial areas are preented without bias.
This book should find a place in the library of graduates, trainees, nurses, and allied personnel in neurology and neurosurgery. It will serve both as a text, and as an example of the fine use one can make of the English language.
