This nice monograph was written by staff members of the Centre for Spastic Children, Cheyne Walk, and it describes thier treatment program. This center appears to be a good example of combining treatment and nursery school for cerebral palsy children with training of professional workers.
The organization of the book is clear with the individual chapters being devoted to definition of the term "cerebral palsy," the etiology, the associated disorders, treatment modalities, psychological and family aspects, and special programs. The first chapter, "What is Cerebral Palsy?" is good enough to be required reading material for anyone starting work as staff or student member in a cerebral palsy clinic or school. Chapters 2 through 6 contain many pearls of observation and understanding. The therapists at the Centre apparently learn many points of view, and they and the reader are wisely directed to select the best from each school of thought with
