The study of blood vessels in the eye using intravascular fluorescein has become a practical clinical technique within the past decade. Photographic recording of the passage of dye through the retinal and choroidal vessels provides diagnostic and therapeutic clues to a wide variety of ocular disorders. It also has provided an objective method to distinguish papilledema from pseudopapilledema. Vascular leakage associated with edema of the disc produces leakage of fluorescein which is revealed by continued fluorescence of the disc after the dye has passed through the eye.

This book admirably reviews the problems which were solved to reach the current level of development of retinal angiography. Its technical descriptions and literature review are unexcelled. The quality of the reproductions is excellent. Ten pages are devoted to disorders of the optic disc.
