This second edition of Dr. Finneson's monograph on pain has been largely rewritten and contains two additional chapters. One of the latter, describing the use of drugs for pain relief, is an informative although brief dissertation on useful standard and synthetic drugs, non-narcotic drugs, and side effects. It is written by Dr. Arthur Grollman of the University of Texas, Southwestern Medical School. The other added chapter, by Dr. Martin Meltzer, New York University School of Medicine, deals with musculoskeletal pain.
