Studies on the Mentally Handicapped Child is a book based on lectures given in England in 1965. The subjects covered by the various authors include discussions on speech development, deafness, learning difficulties and learning methods, and physical education of "subnormal" children. These chapters are preceded by a historical survey of education of handicapped children in the United Kingdom in general, and England in particular. This review would be of interest primarily to British readers.

The seventh and last chapter is a good and precise presentation of the group of disorders commonly classified as cerebral palsy. The value of that lecture is enhanced by proper emphasis on associated conditions such as the abnormalities of sensation and perception and of the eyes, and the problems of hearing and communication and the presence of epileptic seizures.
