The author reviews the subject of cerebral blood flow in a comprehensive manner and reports on his own studies on the neural control of the cerebral circulation in rabbits, cats, and dogs. Using paired thermistors, one of which is heated, placed in homologous areas of the right and left hemispheres to obtain a semiquantitative measure of local blood flow. The various experiments are clearly described and illustrated with numerous black and white reproductions of polygraphic recordings which are generally of good quality. Readers not literate in French will find a representative sample of this work in a report by Molnar and Szántó published in English ("The Effect of Electrical Stimulation of the Bulbar Vasomotor Centre on the Cerebral Flood Flow," Quart J Exp Physiol 49:184, 1964) . . .
