This small monograph consists of four lectures given on the occasion of the seventy-fifth anniversary of the epilepsy center "Meer en Bosch," Netherlands. The first, by M. David and Michelle Dell (Paris), is unique in maintaining that the accent on cases of temporal lobe epilepsy should be upon general rather than focal aspects. The implication of this for the surgical treatment of psychomotor conditions is obvious. The second lecture, by H. Vislie and G. H. Henriksen (Oslo), reports psychic disturbance and symptoms of dementia in epileptics. There is an excellent review of the literature and statement of the problem, followed by an investigation of 162 patients to determine the factors of significance in the appearance of interictal psychiatric symptoms.
