The authors of this monograph have reviewed the findings of neuropsychological interest in a series of 241 patients. In general, their findings substantiate currently held beliefs, eg, on the lateralizing value of déjá vu, metamorphopsia, and the Gerstmann syndrome. They appear adequately aware of psychodynamic factors which may complicate strictly anatomic considerations, eg, in the genesis of "monoglot" aphasia.

The principal defect of the book is the difficulty of deducing precise localizationist evidence from a population with a high percentage of infiltrative and metastatic tumors, as well as cerebral abscesses.
