Though the preface indicates that this book is intended for all clinicians concerned with cerebrovascular diseases, the format and content suggest that the authors were particularly interested in the general practitioner, for they have covered the entire field of cerebral vascular diseases in a general way and have provided suggested reading lists at the end of each chapter for those who wish to pursue the topic in greater detail. The book is attractively made up and printed and, therefore, pleasant to read. Many of the chapters are brief and written in didactic form so that an interested reader may quickly find a particular point or read about a specific disorder or procedure.
Since the authors explain at the outset that the material represents their own particular point of view, it is not surprising that there would be statements which any given reviewer might question and judgments he might challenge. In
