This volume is complementary to an earlier publication by the same author on clinical electromyography and is specifically oriented toward the extraneurological conditions which can be investigated by electromyography.

The text is in Italian, and the subject matter will be of limited appeal (mainly for reference) to workers in electromyographic and related fields. There is a moderate sized precis in English at the end, but this is quite inadequate for conveying the relevant contents and also contains many inaccuracies. There is a major publication defect, in that pages 194-195,198-199, 202-203, and 206-207 are blank, so interrupting the description of periodic paralysis, lipofibrocalcareous myopathy, the climacteric myopathies, and the infectious and toxic myopathies and neuropathies. The bibliography is quite extensive but still appears to have missed some significant contributions and is also only complementary to that of the previous book.
