This is well written, beautifully illustrated monograph covering the fungal infections of the central nervous system. All of the more commonly encountered organisms beginning with actinomycosis and ending with the rarer varieties such as ustilagomycosis are included. The text is clinically oriented covering incidence, source and route of infection, major symptoms and laboratory findings, pathogenesis, type and effectiveness of treatment. Illustrative material includes the characteristics of the various organisms as well as those of the pathological processes which they produce in the brain. Aselected list of references concludes each chapter. The book is an excellent addition to the neurologists's library for ready reference, when confronted with clinical problems in which mycotic infections are a consideration. . . .
