Progress in Neurology and Psychiatry now in its 21st year is an annual review well known to neurological scientists. Under the able leadership of Dr. Spiegel, its chief editor, an outstanding group of reviewers with expertise in various neurologic disciplines have identified, indexed, and reviewed the significant reports appearing in the literature in their own fields. The enormity of the task involved, in a job of this sort, is evident by the fact that over 6,500 articles form the basis of this review. As in the past, it provides ready easy access to the world literature, though critical appraisal of the reports is lacking. Perhaps this is implied by what is or is not chosen for review. The wide range of investigative endeavors which are now involved in the neurological sciences makes this volume particularly valuable for interdisciplinary monitoring of the field.
