This book records the proceedings of the third symposium of the International Society for Clinical Electroretinography. It contains 34 articles contributed by over 50 authors. The articles go wide afield and deal either directly or indirectly with many aspects of the electrophysiology of the visual sensory system. Some of the articles are only indirectly related to the subject of electroretinography. There are articles concerned with the apparatus and technique for obtaining the elecroretinogram and for measuring its potentials. There are reports of parallel observations of electrical changes in both the electroretinogram and electroencephalogram and the employment of electrophysiological techniques to explain phenomena such as color vision. There is also a discussion on electro-oculography. Special background is needed to critically evaluate each article and this is the province of the reader.
