This atlas contains an excellent text on the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of fundus lesions as related to neurological diseases. It is brief, apt, and unencumbered by irrelevant case material and tedious detail. The material is well organized, with the most important facts placed first and properly emphasized. The book is divided into five sections: papilledema, anomalies of the disc confused with papilledema, local and systemic causes of disc swelling, pallor of the optic disc, and combined disorders of the retina and brain. Certain statements are worth repeating, for example, "No judgment of pallor (of the disc) is meaningful until the pallor is correlated with the function of the central and peripheral field of vision."

The text has been correlated by the authors with a magnificent selection of realistic stereoscopic color pictures of the fundus. Their discussions of the various pathologic entities are illustrated point by point. This skillful correlation . . . [Full Text PDF of this Article]
