This small, excellently produced volume is directed at an undergraduate audience and is primarily concerned with methods used in clinical diagnoses of neurological disorders. It should be useful to the student with special interest in neurology because good descriptions of radiological, radioisotopic, encephalographic and electrodiagnostic procedures are included. A particularly useful section on the examination of the cerebrospinal fluid contains descriptions of methods for concentration prior to cell surveys and electrophoresis. Rarely used diagnostic procedures, such as rheoencephalography and armretina circulation times are described. There are extensive references to the European literature and a good index is included.

This is a most excellent book and it is to be regretted that no similar modern text has appeared recently in the English language. The book should prove of great value to medical undergraduates interested in neurology who have sufficient command of the German language. . . . [Full Text PDF of this Article]
