This book was written by a neurosurgeon with the collaboration of an anesthetist and psychologist. There are chapters on the neurosurgical examination of children, tumors, a malformation, the surgery of glial scars, and cranial malformation. There is no index, and no references are given.
One can argue about the need for another textbook of pediatric neurosurgery. But if this book should be labelled such, then the subspecialty is not well represented by this publication. It is difficult to review a book which consists mainly of the description of patients who have been treated by the author. There are numerous repetitive illustrations. Occasionally, the quality of the reproduction is so poor that items described in the caption cannot be seen even on close scrutiny. The reason for the inclusion of some figures is quite obscure.
