This small paper-back volume, now in its third edition, is an attempt to correlate signs and symptoms of neurological disease with structure and function of the nervous system. In a concise, descriptive, but oversimplified form, the author presents classical concepts of the functional anatomy of each of the major pathways of the nervous system. Chapters describing the voluntary motor pathway, pain, temperature, hearing, vision, cranial nerves, etc, are all included. Publications of this sort usually appeal to medical students beginning their clinical clerkships and physicians in training or practice who have been out of contact with neuroanatomy and are seeking a means of quick review. More serious students of neurology soon find texts of this sort superficial and inadequate for their needs.
