This volume represents the most condensed version of clinical neurology that this reviewer has seen to date. In some 240 small size pages the author covers structure and function of the nervous system, history taking and the neurological examination, and neurological diseases ranging from Alzheimer's to Wilson's. One cannot help but admire an effort of this sort, but the result leaves a lot to be desired. The volume is obviously not intended for the serious student of neurology but rather for the medical student, training physician, or those in general practice. Even for an audience of this sort, the presentation of the functional anatomy of the nervous system in schematic form and the use of unqualified statements in describing disease processes is of limited value. Perhaps there is some usefulness for a text of this sort for para medical personnel seeking an introduction to the nervous system. . . . [Full Text PDF of this Article]
