This book is a compilation of articles of the Eleventh Annual Scientific Meeting of the Houston Neurologic Society. The subject matter "Neurologic Aspects of Disorders of Auditory and Vestibular Functions" was presented and discussed by otologists, anatomists, physiologists, psychologists, and neurologists. Because of the attempt to include both the basic science and clinical aspects of this subject within limited time, the articles were concise. A few of the contributions appear to be modified extracts or summaries of articles previously published in specialized journals, but to the reader and most of those who attended the meeting the contents were new and informative. Discussions followed each presentation and, in some instances, there appeared to be a polite difference of opinion. However, the differences were not always crystalized and it was left to those interested in the subject to ascertain flaws in the presentation.
