This book is a result of a Symposium of the American Academy of Neurology held in April, 1962. The Academy of Neurology, which is largely composed of individuals with clinical interests and the editors are to be commended for an attempt at a book that should have appeal for investigators of the nervous system by modern basic morphological, functional, or chemical techniques. As such, there are at least a few chapters that could have some interest for any investigator. Most of the chapters in this book are adequate and I will not comment on them since it would express my judgment as to how close each of the individual investigators got to the neurobiology window so that he could ask an appropriate or even pertinent question of the material with which he dealt.
