The expanding literature on animal models of neurological diseases reflects advances in methods to generate animal models, particularly transgenic mice; advances in methods for analysis; and advances in our understanding of the molecular mechanisms of neurological diseases that allow pathophysiological hypotheses and potential treatments to be tested in animal models. The lack of a single source for the practical information required to use animal models of neurological diseases can be frustrating. This highlights the need for a comprehensive yet concise and practical handbook. This book uniquely meets this need and provides a useful guide for clinicians and researchers interested in an overview of existing experimental models of major neurological diseases as well as a practical guide for researchers seeking to implement the latest methods and techniques.
Each chapter is written by experts on an individual topic. Part 1 (the first 17 chapters) is divided roughly . . . [Full Text of this Article] AUTHOR INFORMATION
