A matter has come to my attention that I would appreciate having the opportunity of addressing through the pages of the Archives. The issue relates to our article1 on the neuropsychological test battery (NTB) published in September 2007 and my consulting relationship with Elan Pharmaceuticals and Wyeth Research. Let me begin by clarifying my financial position regarding the NTB:

  • The NTB is a nonproprietary clinical tool. It is not now, nor has ever been, owned by me or any organization in which I have held a financial interest.
  • I have received no payment from the authors or owners of the NTB tests for recommending their inclusion in any study.

Additionally, although in the course of my activities I have received consultancy payments from a number of drug development sponsors, I have never held or traded stock in a client company, including Elan Pharmaceuticals and Wyeth . . . [Full Text of this Article]
