New Initiatives

Clinical Trials and Videos

Since this article does not have an abstract, we have provided the first 150 words of the full text and any section headings.

We have initiated in the past few years Archives Express, publication ahead of print, and research letters to expedite publication of original scientific contributions. Our recent readers' survey indicates these are highly valuable and desired initiatives to publish quickly the most important accepted papers.

We now want to indicate that publishing clinical trials represents a major new initiative, and we welcome manuscripts that describe double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled clinical trials as our primary area of interest. Open-label studies will also receive our special attention. We plan to expedite the review process and time to publication and to include these articles online ahead of print because these studies are time-sensitive and of direct benefit to our patients. We hope you will take advantage of this new initiative.
