Sports Neuropsychology sets out to present the topic of concussion management in sports and introduce the growing role of a neuropsychology in this area. This book briefly reviews the mechanism of concussions, presents the epidemiology of concussions in sports, discusses concussion management programs at various levels of sport, and introduces the use of computerized neuropsychological test batteries for brief postconcussive assessments and to assist in return-to-play decisions. The contributing authors, experienced health care professionals and researchers in traumatic brain injury, made excellent use of the available literature, with an extensive reference list in each chapter.
