This book is edited by a group of well-known experts in the field who in turn selected stellar authors to address the different areas of neuroimaging/magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and stroke.

The book has 19 chapters that seem to divide into 3 sections: general introduction (chapters 1-4), MRI/magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) introduction (chapters 5-7), and specific topics (chapters 8-19). Perhaps one of the best assets of the book is the way in which we are initially introduced to its main topic. The first chapter has a wonderful review of stroke in general with an emphasis on diagnosis. The second chapter reviews different neuroimaging techniques and their limitations. The third and fourth chapters review basic computed tomography (CT) techniques as well as other CT techniques, including xenon CT and perfusion CT. These initial chapters give us an even-ground perspective from which we then learn about the different MRI techniques.
